Astrology Signs

Many people identify themselves according to their astrology sign, ever heard somebody say, ‘I am a Capricorn because I was born on 14 January’. Astrology signs are also called zodiac signs and they refer to the colors and the energies of all the major planets we know, including the sun. Twelve zodiac signs can be identified, they are; Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. These astrology signs all contain the following common elements: A glyph, planetary ruler, sub-cycles and main personality themes.

The zodiac can be translated to mean, ‘circle of life’, this is obvious when one notices that all the zodiac signs are either that of people or animals. Astrology signs are each 30 degrees long; the zodiac cycle starts with Aries every first day of spring. Each Zodiac sign has what is known as a ‘planetary ruler’, the ‘planetary ruler’ and its associated sign are similar regarding meaning and energy levels. There are some planets who have two ‘planetary rulers’, these are Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces. As is told by astrologers, the first ruler is called the ‘traditional ruler’ and the second ruler is called the ‘modern ruler’, some astrologists however do not place too much emphasis on the traditional rulers and sometimes do not even interpret their relationship in the zodiac.

Each astrology sign indicates a different trait in personality. Taking the example of the zodiac sign, Virgo, the planetary ruler for Virgo is Mercury, its element is earth and its mode is mutable. A Virgo’s traits typically consists of a person who has trouble adjusting to the world and others, posses the ability to change in order to live life better and leads a life of perfection. Personality styles include perfectionism, helping others, efficiency; enjoying crafts and projects, lacks confidence when in a conflicting situation, ability to think before acting, awareness of other people’s needs and ability to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.

Astrology signs are each diverse and whilst some astrological signs mesh, others are like a combination of oil and water. Zodiac signs posses four elements, namely earth, wind, fire and water. The element of earth refers to the need for security; the element of fire desires freedom, the air element also desires freedom but with a larger emphasis and the final element of water desires a larger need for security. These elements are all part of the astrology signs of Virgo, Pisces etc and determine what kind of personality traits we possess. Descriptions for astrology signs can be found online, there are many astrologers who want to provide you with their services in order to have you gain a better understanding of your personality and the conflicts that lie within. Through a better understanding of ourselves, we will be better able to handle situations that are conflicting to our self as a person.
